Review of Cruise Liners!

I’m going to review and compare the three cruise liners I have been on in the past.

Cruise holidays are my favourite ways to travel to visit new places as you can visit a new country every day. Cruises are easy holidays plus all the food in iincluded in the price except for the soda drinks and alcohol. I have been on 7 Cruises since 2005 and I hope to go on more in the future as they are really fun.

Royal Caribbean Cruise line

The first cruise liner company I went on was the Royal Caribbean and I have been on Majesty of the Seas in 2009 sailing around the Bahamas, Independence of the Seas in 2010 around the Mediterranean and twice on the Voyager of the Seas in 2005 to the Bahamas and again in 2006 around the Mediterranean. There isn’t much difference between the ships. Some are just bigger and modern than others. The Independence has more activities for children to do whilst you’re out at sea. My favourite ship out of the three is the Independence of the Seas as it’s a larger ship and they have a great shopping and bar area in the centre of the ship and you feel as if you’re in a shopping mall. They also have a carnival in the shopping area which is great to attend or even to participate in.
I have had a mixed experience with the staff across the three ships some state-room staff have been very welcoming and others have been really rude and coming across as they aren’t happy to be there. The dining room waiters have always been really friendly and they are always making sure you have a good dining experience whilst you’re in their company.

Advantages:
• No matter what ship of the Royal Caribbean you go on they always have really good food
• They have better entertainment theatre shows and children’s activities.
• Royal Caribbean is the best cruise for children.
• 2 out of 3 the bedrooms had been cleaned to a high standard.
• There’s a great atmosphere on board.
• They have a free gym.

Disadvantages:
• The ships can be too over crowded so it can be difficult to get a sunbed by the pool.
• You can’t stay in bed all day as the cleaner has to clean your room.
• The spa treatments and excursions can be expensive.
• They don’t offer cooked food for breakfast for room service.
• Royal Caribbean is more expensive than the other two cruise liners.

Princess Cruise Line

I have been on the Grand Princess Cruise Liner Twice to the Mediterranean and Norway in 2009 and 2012.
The Princess Cruises are my second favourite Cruise Liner out of the three.
The interior of the Grand Princess was improved from when I went on there in 2009 which made the boat modern and looking as if it was brand new. The Princess ships haven’t introduced many children’s activities and I feel the Princess ships are for the older generation. The state-rooms are always clean and fresh but aren’t as the same standards as the Royal Caribbean state-rooms. The staff again can be a little rude but it’s to do with the person not really the cruise liner. Now the food in the buffet I weren’t really keen on but the dining room food is really nice. All the cruises have restaurants on board where you have to pay per person, the food in the restaurants are even better than the dining room food.

Advantages:
• They have a free gym.
• Not many children are on board so it can be quiet.
• The Princess cruises are cheaper than Royal Caribbean.
• The have Movie under the stars by the pool which is great with a blanket and some popcorn.

• The food isn’t that great in the Buffet.
• The rooms aren’t always cleaned to a high standard.
• There is no impressive lobby or shopping area.

Norwegian Cruise Line

I went on the Norwegian Cruise liner in 2012 to the Bahamas. I didn’t have any expectations of the cruise liner as I hadn’t been on any Norwegian cruises before. Talking at breakfast to other passengers a family from Boston said it was their first cruise and they would never go on another cruise again. I told them not to give up on cruising and that it was just the cruise liner and other cruises offered a much nicer experience. I don’t really have much to say about the cruise as it had poor decor, poor food and the rooms weren’t clean.

Advantages:
• The Cruise Liner is the cheapest out of the three liners.
• They have a free gym.
Disadvantages:
• The food on board the ship wasn’t great.
• The staff was rude.
• The cleanliness of the state-rooms weren’t of a suitable standard.

Overall I would defiantly recommend the Royal Caribbean to cruise with for your first cruise and also the Princess Cruises. Cruises are the new way to travel and are much less stressful than travelling around with lots of suitcases and they are much more adventurous than just stay in the same place for two weeks.
